Our beautiful B&B is located in a unique location near the center of the old fortified town of Steenwijk. You will stay in the Upper Room of a former church building. There is one room, so you spend the night completely private!
The church hall is converted into a stained glass studio and residence. The atmosphere of the former church is reflected in the large stained glass windows in the B&B.

The B&B has its own entrance and from your room you enter a luxurious private bathroom with all amenities. The B&B is always accessible thanks to the code lock. Workplace, wifi, flat screen, mini fridge, microwave, Senseo, kettle and supplies for coffee / tea and soup are available. Plates, glassware and cutlery, in fact everything to get away from it all for a few days.
Station, theater de Meenthe, shops and restaurants are a few minutes’ walk away around the historic market square. Enjoy the museums such as Museum House Rams Woerthe, the Downton Abbey of northern Netherlands!
The B&B is a perfect base for renting a boat in Giethoorn, canoeing in the National Park De Weerribben, hiking on the Woldberg or visiting the sheepfold and dolmens in the woods near Havelte.
The stained glass studio De Glazen Zee is located in the former church hall.
If you wish, you can visit the studio and see the glazier at work. Get to know the old craft. The glazier is happy to tell you about his passion

Area
Theater De Meenthe, Jugendstil villa “Rams Woerthe” and the old city center are a few minutes’ walk away. Take a nice walk on the old city walls and visit the Clemens Church from the 15th century.
Steenwijk is located on the border of the low moor area with Giethoorn and the Weerribben-Wieden National Park and the beautiful forests of the Woltberg and Havelterberg.
Visit the beautiful De Eese estate in Eesveen or dive into the history of “the Colonies of Benevolence” in Frederiksoord, recently declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Steenwijk is the starting point for beautiful cycling and walking routes.
